ACE Team is including a new game mode that will be featured when Zeno Clash is released; a Survival Mode with a friends ranking system.
We took into consideration the feedback we were getting from the community and we really considered it was important to offer a game component that focused solely on the fun of the combat system and also had a competitive component.

Unlockable Tower Challenges
The Survival Mode is elaborated so players can enjoy the gameplay of Zeno Clash without having to replay through the single player campaign. The player will unlock several ‘Tower Challenges’ as he progresses through the game.
Each tower segment is divided in a set of floors with different enemy and weapon configurations. When a player wipes a floor of opponents he is allowed to climb to the next floor. Only by progressing through floors does the player receive a health boost, so staying sharp and in control of the fights is crucial to survive through the challenges. Each tower segment has a final boss level that must be completed to be ranked.
Ranking System
The Survival Mode will come with a ranking system that will compare your performance against your friends. Players will be ranked by time and health used to clear a tower segment. Here’s a sneak peek of the tower ranking system:
The ranking system gives a new dimension to the game mode because players are not only trying to survive through the challenges, but they are also competing against their friends. The leaderboards add greatly to the replay value and the fun behind the combat mechanics.
Difficulty
The five tower challenges have ascending difficulty, and the final towers are only for the experienced. Tower levels will put the player’s skills to the test. Players will be required to have a good handling of the weapons and the combat mechanics if they want to progress through the levels.
The development team has been testing the feature here at the office and the game mode is a blast to play. Clearing a tower is one thing, but clearing a tower as fast as possible or losing as little health as possible is another thing. We’re eager to see how the stats turn out once players are competing when the game is released.
